As you may, or may not be aware, negotiations have been going on between the Association of Past Students of IMMarsh and John Moores University regarding the upgrading of the awarded Certificate in Education to Honorary Bachelor of Education.
John Moores University have now agreed to this following the example set by other colleges including Dartford, Chelsea and Loughborough who have already completed this process.
The IMMarsh Campus in Barkhill Road is due to close in July 2021. The current proposals from John Moores University are to mark this closure with several celebrations.
At this moment I don’t have exact details, but a graduation ceremony is planned as part of these celebrations. This will include the awarding of Honorary B.Ed. degrees to past students of IMMarsh who have opted into this process.
Obviously in these turbulent times, dates may change. If you wish to participate in this process you need to inform either myself Barbara Graham, President of the Association of Past Students of IMMarsh, or Kerry Rickarby, Alumni Relations Manager at John Moores University.
When you contact us, you need to provide the following information:
Full Name – including maiden name if applicable
Year of Leaving College
If you do not have email then send details to me and include a telephone number at:
3 Haroldene Grove, Prescot, L34 1PY.
This information will then be retained by John Moores University and they will contact you directly with further details as arrangements develop.
IMMarsh has been in existence for over a hundred and twenty years so let’s make this a memorable occasion. However, if I do not hear from you I will assume that you do not wish to be involved.
Please feel free to pass this information on to any contacts you may have who are not members of our Association.
With best wishes to you and your families in these uncertain times.
